Ed Caute shortlisted for Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year
We are delighted to announce that our very own Ed Caute has been shortlisted in the Criminal Defence category of the 2016 Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year awards.
The Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year awards (or LALYS) are awarded annually by the Legal Aid Practitioner Group to celebrate the leading Legal Aid lawyers in a number of categories. Ed Caute is one of three leading criminal defence lawyers shortlisted in this category.
Legal Aid Practitioners Group director Carol Storer says: ‘The range and quality of finalists this year illustrates not just the important legal aid work that is being done, but also the diversity of people who are drawn to this vital area of law.’
The LALYS are run on a not-for-profit basis by LAPG, which campaigns on behalf of legal aid practitioners.
‘LAPG believes that access to justice is a fundamental right and as such we campaign for a fair, comprehensive and accessible legal aid scheme’
The award winners will be announced by Baroness Doreen Lawrence at a ceremony in central London on 7 July 2016.
